Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a CHC Outpatient Pharmacy Technician to prepare and distribute medications, operate automation, maintain inventory, and support daily QA audits.

You will train staff under supervision, deliver exceptional customer service, and ensure accurate pharmacy records in a fast-paced hospital setting. Requires MA registration, PTCB/exCPT certification, and 2–3 years of experience; 3+ years preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Intern with the MA Board by the hire date.
• National certification from PTCB or exCPT, or within 6 months from start date.
• Requires 2-3 years' experience with at least one year pharmacy related experience.
• 3+ years' of experience preferred.
• Pharmacy students who have completed 2 years of education in an approved college/school of pharmacy are eligible for pharmacy internship.

Responsibilities

• Preparing product for use, including packaging, repacking, compounding, bar-coding, or any other manipulation.
• Performing medication preparation in accordance with law, regulation, accreditation standards, and hospital policy or procedure, including double check system.
• Assists with inventory control (receiving, stocking, replenishment) including: Receiving product and stocking in accordance with laws and hospital policy.
• Communicates to pharmacists and/or supervisor on malfunctioning equipment and unsafe working conditions
• Providing the highest level of customer service, including answering the telephone and greeting customers.
• Attends and participates in hospital and management training workshops.
