Sentara Health is seeking a PRN/Flexi Pharmacy Technician for the Outpatient Pharmacy at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA. The role requires Virginia Pharmacy Tech License and CPhT certification, with at least 1 year of experience preferred.

The position involves filling and delivering medications under pharmacist supervision, maintaining supplies, and using pharmacy information systems in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required for this role.
• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License is required to practice in Virginia.
• CPhT License (NHA or PTCB) is required.

Overview

Sentara is hiring a PRN/Flexi Pharmacy Technician for our brand new Outpatient Pharmacy at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA.

Location & Status

Location: Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center - Woodbridge, VA

Status: Flexi/PRN

Work Shift: Rotating PRN

Open 9am-7pm Monday through Friday; Closed weekends and major holidays.

Job Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately
• In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
• A pharmacy technician license is required in the state of practice

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Certification / Licensure

• Virginia Pharmacy Tech License (Required)
• CPhT License (Received through the NHA or PTCB) (Required)

Experience

• One Year Pharmacy Tech Experience (Preferred)

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.50 - $36.36 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
