Job summary

Sentara is hiring a PRN/Flexi Pharmacy Technician for our brand new Outpatient Pharmacy at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, VA. The role involves filling and delivering medications under pharmacist supervision and maintaining stock to ensure uninterrupted patient care.

Open 9am-7pm Monday through Friday, with weekends and major holidays closed. WV license and CPhT are required. One year of experience is preferred; base pay is competitive with benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy technician license in the state of practice is required.
• CPhT license (NHA/PTCB) required.
• One year pharmacy tech experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fills and delivers medications under supervision of a licensed pharmacist or practitioner.
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care.
• Triages and escalates questions or issues outside the technician's scope.
• Uses systems for processing patient information.
• Ensures quality assurance per departmental and legal requirements.
• Operates pharmacy equipment as directed.

The Pharmacy Technician performs care delivery and dispensing under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist or licensed independent practitioner.

• Fills and delivers medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist/licensed independent practitioner
• Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care
• Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technician's scope of practice as needed
• Uses appropriate systems for processing patient information
• Ensures quality assurance is maintained according to departmental and legal requirements
• Operates pharmacy equipment appropriately

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $23.50 - $36.36 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
