Job summary

Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support specialty medications within the Loyola University Health System. Under the supervision of a pharmacist, you will help process orders, verify benefits, assist patients with reimbursement, and keep providers informed about prescription processing.

Qualifications

High School Diploma.
Preferred: completion of Pharmacy Technician Training Program.
1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
Student enrolled in a College of Pharmacy preferred.
Experience in a customer service pharmacy environment preferred.
Current IL licensure as a Pharmacy Tech.
CPhT or ExCPT certification required for technicians licensed after 2007; 2-year grace for new licenses.

Responsibilities

Assist Specialty Medication Pharmacist or designee with processing new and refill specialty orders.
Verify and re-verify pharmacy benefits and assist patients with reimbursement issues.
Maintain ongoing follow-up with the specialty pharmacy and inform providers about prescription processing.
