Job summary
Loyola Medicine is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support specialty medications within the Loyola University Health System. Under pharmacist supervision, you will process new and refill orders, verify benefits, assist patients with reimbursement issues, and coordinate with the specialty pharmacy.
This full-time, day-shift role (8:30a-5p) with No weekends/major holidays offers benefits from day one, tuition reimbursement, on-site fitness, and opportunities for career growth in a supportive team.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- Preferred: Pharmacy Technician Training Program completed.
- 1-2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
- Student enrolled in a College of Pharmacy preferred.
- Experience in a customer service pharmacy environment preferred.
- Current IL licensure as a Pharmacy Tech.
- CPhT or ExCPT certification required for technicians licensed after Dec 31, 2007.
Responsibilities
- Assist Specialty Medication Pharmacist with processing new and refill specialty orders.
- Verify and re-verify pharmacy benefits and aid patients with reimbursement issues.
- Maintain follow-up with the specialty pharmacy and inform providers of prescription processing.
