Job summary

Thompson Health is seeking a Pharmacy Technician who will assist with preparing and distributing medications and perform clerical duties within the department. All medication tasks are supervised by licensed pharmacists, ensuring safety and accuracy.

The role requires basic computer skills, willingness to learn the health system's workflows, and a patient-focused attitude aligned with Thompson Health's CARES values. Saturday availability and per diem schedule may apply.

Qualifications

• High School education with ability to use Word and Excel.
• Healthcare/pharmacy experience preferred but not required
• Pharmacy Technician Certification and NYS license preferred
• Demonstrates aseptic techniques for IV solutions
• Knowledge of Hospital IS (Pharmacy & B/AR) and MS Word/Excel

Responsibilities

• Assists in nonprofessional duties for preparing and distributing medications.
• Performs clerical duties of the department.
• All medication duties are under supervision of licensed personnel (RPh).

Schedule: Per diem, Saturday availability needed. 9am to 5pm ideal.

Pay Range: $19.48 -$24.00, based on experience.

Main Function:

• Assists in the nonprofessional aspects of preparing and distributing medications & performs the clerical duties of the dept.
• All medication-associated duties are performed under the direct supervision of licensed personnel (Registered Pharmacists).

Required Job Specific Competencies:

• Demonstrates skill in daily communication including effectively gathering and disseminating information.
• Demonstrates flexibility in decision making and prioritizing assignments.
• Demonstrates skill on proactively resolving problems, recommending, and implementing continuous quality improvements.
• Demonstrates knowledge in aseptic techniques for the preparation of IV solutions.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of the Hospital's Information System (Pharmacy and B/AR), as well as the ability to work in Microsoft's Word and Excel.
• Provides customer service and support in a manner consistent with the health system's goals and expectations

Pay Range: $19.48 -$24.00
