Job summary

Thompson Health in Canandaigua, NY, is seeking a per diem Pharmacy Technician to assist with medication preparation and clerical duties under pharmacist supervision. The role requires weekend Saturday availability and offers a pay range of $19.48 to $24.00 per hour depending on experience.

Candidates with high school education and familiarity with Word/Excel will be considered; pharmacy technician certification and NYS license are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Healthcare/pharmacy experience preferred but not required.

• Starting pay based on experience.

• Schedule:** Per diem, Saturday availability needed. 9am to 5pm ideal. **Pay Range:** $19.48 -$24.00, based on experience.

Main Function

• Assists in the nonprofessional aspects of preparing and distributing medications & performs the clerical duties of the dept.
• All medication-associated duties are performed under the direct supervision of licensed personnel (Registered Pharmacists).

Required Job Specific Competencies

• Demonstrates skill in daily communication including effectively gathering and disseminating information.
• Demonstrates flexibility in decision making and prioritizing assignments.
• Demonstrates skill on proactively resolving problems, recommending, and implementing continuous quality improvements.
• Demonstrates knowledge in aseptic techniques for the preparation of IV solutions.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of the Hospital's Information System (Pharmacy and B/AR), as well as the ability to work in Microsoft's Word and Excel.
• Provides customer service and support in a manner consistent with the health system's goals and expectations
