Job summary

Ephraim McDowell Health is seeking an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician to support the purchasing, preparation, dispensing and billing of medications in the retail pharmacy setting. The role requires accuracy, teamwork with pharmacists, and proficiency with pharmacy software and POS systems.

Responsibilities include order entry, prescription processing, packaging, labeling, inventory control, and patient safety through barcode verification, with training of new Associates as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the KY Board of Pharmacy prior to orientation date.
• Interprets orders and enters patient information into pharmacy profile with accuracy.
• Assists in acquiring prior authorizations, coupons or discounts to help patients with coverage.

Responsibilities

• Interpret orders and enter patient data into the pharmacy system.
• Verify orders for interactions or duplications; communicate with providers as needed.
• Package, label, and dispense medications; ensure safety with barcode checks.
• Manage cash, third-party billing, and deposits; balance daily.
