Job summary

Qualifications

• Registration as a technician with the NC Board of Pharmacy unless enrolled in a PharmD program.
• CPhT from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA unless enrolled in a PharmD program; waiver may apply.

Responsibilities

• Transcribes orders from prescribers under pharmacist supervision.
• Assists with training of new employees.
• Assists with Medication Therapy Management and other clinical outreach programs.
• Selects and prepares medications as directed by a physician under supervision.
• Prepares medications for pick-up, delivery or shipping; manages stock.
• Handles patient payments and cash transactions accurately.
• Responds to customer requests about pharmacy services.
• Operates automated dispensing technology to supply medications.
• Manages inventory restocking and expiration date control.
• Contributes to process improvement initiatives.
