Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist and following established policies and procedures, the pharmacy technician assists in various activities within the pharmacy department. Responsibilities include prescription order entry, claim adjudication, providing telephone support to patients, non-sterile compounding, operating pharmacy automation and point-of-sale equipment, and maintaining assigned areas. The technician performs duties aligned with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months experience as a registered pharmacy technician in a retail or specialty pharmacy setting, or with a pharmacy benefits manager system.
• Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Florida.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• If not currently registered, a Pharmacy Intern permit issued by the Florida Board of Pharmacy may be substituted.
