Qualifications

• 6 months experience as a registered pharmacy technician required.

Job description

JOB SUMMARY

Under direct supervision of a Registered Pharmacist, and following established policies and procedures, assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department including prescription order entry, claim adjudication, telephone support to patients, non-sterile compounding, use of pharmacy automation and point of sales equipment, and maintenance of assigned areas. Responsible for performing assigned duties in accordance with the mission, vision, and values of Tampa General Hospital.

Minimum Requirements

• Required 6 months experience as a registered pharmacy technician in a retail / specialty pharmacy setting, or pharmacy benefits manager system.
• Must maintain current registration in the State of Florida as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word / Outlook.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• In the absence of a current State of Florida, Board of Pharmacy issued permit as a Registration Pharmacy Technician, a current/active Pharmacy Intern permit, issued by State of Florida, Board of Pharmacy may be substituted.
