Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health is seeking a Pharmacy Manager to lead outpatient pharmacy operations, inventory control, staffing and budgeting while ensuring regulatory compliance and top-tier patient care.

You will supervise staff, drive process improvements, coordinate with specialty services and report on quality metrics, revenue and performance. CT licensure and immunization certification are required; strong leadership is preferred.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy degree from an accredited college; Connecticut pharmacist license.
• Minimum 3 years of pharmacy experience; leadership experience preferred.
• ASHP residency preferred; advanced degree considered.
• Immunization certification and knowledge of regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outpatient pharmacy operations including inventory, staffing, scheduling and budgeting.
• Supervise all staff reporting to outpatient pharmacy services.
• Ensure prescription continuity, improve volumes and margins.
• Monitor monthly P&L and coordinate revenue initiatives.
• Communicate project status and staff concerns to leadership weekly.
• Promote excellence in work habits, customer service and patient care.
• Develop and maintain policies for efficiency and safety in pharmacy services.
• Resolve personnel issues and complete performance reviews.
• Lead quality, safety and regulatory compliance with relevant bodies (DPH, ASHP, ISMP, CMS, DEA).
• Perform audits and rounds to ensure policy adherence.
• Design new processes to minimize safety risk and inefficiency.
• Participate in recruitment, orientation and performance management of staff.
• Foster cross-departmental communication and committee participation.
• Maintain professionalism and focus on patient care in all activities.
• Oversee ITS applications and ensure support for dispensing software and EMR.
• Collaborate with Outpatient Specialty Service on operational matters.
