Job summary

UC Davis Health seeks a Pharmacist to provide comprehensive dispensing and clinical pharmaceutical services to ambulatory patients. You will supervise pharmacy technicians, oversee staff, and ensure accurate medication delivery as part of a 24/7 integrated pharmacy team dedicated to patient care, excellence, and innovation.

The role emphasizes clinical services, patient consultation, and collaboration with healthcare providers within an outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• California Pharmacist License eligible and possess a valid license at the time of hire
• Immunization Certification
• AHA or Red Cross BLS, or UC Davis Health CPR
• Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent training
• Recent Outpatient Retail Pharmacy experience working as a Registered Pharmacist (last 2 years)
• Experience performing QA and order verification
• Patient counseling experience
• Customer service experience
• Working knowledge of Medi-Cal Formulary and other third- party billing systems
• Ability to accurately perform pharmacy calculations
• Ability to interpret and understand physicians' orders, pharmacy, and nursing records
• Current knowledge of pharmacy terminology, generic/brand names, abbreviations and drugs on current hospital formulary
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to independently exercise delegated authority to take action, and to recognize when it is appropriate to seek assistance from others, when limits of delegated authority have been reached
