Job summary

St. Peter’s Health Partners in Latham, NY is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Outpatient Orthopedics Office on a full-time basis. The role uses the nursing process to diagnose and treat patient health concerns and supports care across the patient journey.

You will perform vital signs, manage medications in the EMR, handle referrals, obtain consent, provide patient education, and ensure a clean, safe environment. Office hours are Monday–Friday with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred
• HS Diploma/equivalent required
• Current NYS RN license
• Basic Life Support certification
• 6 months previous RN experience
• Must be able to lift 20 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Brings patient to exam room, takes vital signs and documents in EMR
• Review and update medication list in EMR for provider review
• Complete referrals and tracks patient compliance
• Review prescriptions electronically and send to providers
• Obtains patient consent for procedures
• Performs pre-visit planning and reviews quality metrics
• Retrieves telephonic clinical information from patients
• Monitors task list and completes tasks assigned by provider
• Educates patients regarding medication and home care techniques
• Ensure proper labeling and documentation for patient specimens
• Follow up with patient regarding test results
• Maintains a clean and safe work environment
• In conjunction with nursing staff, maintains supply cabinets
• Uses EMR to communicate effectively
• Performs quality assurance duties
• Provides a clinical visit summary to patient
• Participates in daily Patient Care huddles
• Cooperates with colleagues to ensure quality patient care
• Performs other duties as assigned
