Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems, an ambulatory outpatient orthopedic surgery clinic, seeks an experienced RN to coordinate care from intake through surgery across the Short Pump, Downtown, and Stony Point clinics.

You will provide age-specific nursing care, document care and treatments, administer medications safely, and educate patients and families about procedures and recovery. A BSN/BSN-in-progress and Virginia RN license are required or enrolled within specified timelines.

Qualificações

• Active RN license in Virginia.
• BSN or MSN preferred; all RN's must enroll and complete a BSN program within 5 years.
• BLS, ACLS certification as required for role.
• Experience in orthopedic, perioperative, or surgical nursing is a plus.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate patient care from pre-op through post-op, ensuring a seamless surgical experience.
• Provide expert-level, age-specific nursing care based on medical orders and multidisciplinary treatment plans.
• Document patient care, assessments, and responses to treatment.
• Safely administer prescribed medications, identifying potential interactions or incompatibilities.
• Serve as an Orthopedic Surgery Support Nurse with specialized orthopedic patient care knowledge.
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, recovery, and ongoing care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote patient wellness and injury prevention.

Conhecimentos

RN license

BSN/ MSN preferred

Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing

BSN program enrollment within 2 years, completion within 5 years
