Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems seeks an experienced Orthopedic Surgical Clinic RN to coordinate care from intake to surgery in outpatient settings across multiple clinics. You will work closely with the orthopedic team, delivering age-appropriate nursing care within multidisciplinary plans.

The role requires Virginia RN licensure; BSN/ MSN preferred with BSN enrollment within 5 years. BLS/ACLS as applicable, strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Virginia.
• BSN or MSN preferred; all RN's must enroll and complete a BSN program within 5 years.
• BLS, ACLS certification as required for role.
• Experience in orthopedic, perioperative, or surgical nursing is a plus.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care from pre-op through post-op.
• Provide age-specific nursing care based on orders and plans.
• Document patient care, assessments, and responses to treatment.
• Safely administer prescribed medications and monitor interactions.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, recovery, and care.
