Job summary

Mercy South in St. Louis is seeking an Outpatient Specialty RN to join the Oncology & Hematology team at the David M. Sindelar Cancer Center. You will provide compassionate, patient-centered care in an outpatient setting, performing assessments, treatments, education and care coordination for patients throughout their care journey.

The role offers a day shift, 40 hours per week, with opportunities to grow in a specialty nursing area and collaborate with physicians and a dedicated care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, valid RN license.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• No prior oncology experience required

Responsibilities

• Room patients, review histories, obtain vital signs, assess conditions
• Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures
• Assist physicians with patient care and specialty procedures
• Educate patients on their plan of care
• Coordinate care with physicians and care team
• Document patient care in the electronic health record
• Maintain medication handling and safety practices
• Support infection prevention and keep exam rooms stocked
• Respond calmly in urgent situations within the clinic
