Job summary

Mercy South's Oncology Infusion Center is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our infusion team in the David M. Sindelar Cancer Center. You will assess patients before, during, and after infusion, administer chemotherapy and other therapies, monitor responses, and coordinate care with oncologists and pharmacists.

This PRN day-shift role supports a compassionate, patient-centered approach, with a strong emphasis on safety, education, and teamwork as patients progress through treatment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current, valid RN license.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Previous oncology infusion experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, hydration therapy, and other IV medications.
• Monitor patients for treatment responses and adverse reactions.
• Access and maintain peripheral IVs, ports, and central lines.
• Collaborate with oncologists, APPs, pharmacists, and staff to coordinate treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on medications, side effects, and care needs.
• Review labs and communicate significant findings to the care team.
• Document assessments and treatments in the electronic health record.
• Maintain oncology safety standards and infection prevention practices.
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families throughout treatment.
