Job summary

Mercy South is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Oncology Infusion Center to deliver compassionate infusion therapies in a welcoming outpatient setting. The role supports chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other infusions while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, medication administration, and education for patients and families. This PRN position offers day shifts, with a focus on safe, high-quality oncology nursing care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current, valid RN license.
• CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• Previous infusion/oncology experience is not required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients before, during, and after infusion treatments.
• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, hydration therapy, and other infusion medications.
• Monitor patients for treatment responses and adverse reactions.
• Access and maintain peripheral IVs, ports, and central lines.
• Collaborate with oncologists and pharmacists to coordinate treatment plans.
• Educate patients and families on medications, side effects, and ongoing care needs.
• Review labs and communicate significant findings to the care team.
• Document assessments and treatments in the electronic health record.
• Maintain oncology safety standards and infection prevention practices.
• Provide compassionate support to patients and families throughout treatment.
