Job summary

UHA University Health Associates in Buckhannon, WV is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to deliver patient-centered OB/Gyn care within a multidisciplinary team.

The APP will perform comprehensive evaluations, coordinate care plans, supervise residents and students, and lead in discharge planning and follow-up. Licensure in WV is required or eligible, with BLS and ACLS as appropriate.”

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE accredited nursing program with Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
• BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) at the discretion of the department.
• Bachelor’s Degree as Physician Assistant or Master’s Degree as Physician Assistant required.
• Graduate of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant training program.
• Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants required.
• Must be licensed or eligible for licensure by the WV Board of Medicine.
• BLS Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support training at the discretion of the department.

Responsibilities

• Coverage Elkins Corridor.
• Manages comprehensive and individualized care for Ob/Gyn patients and their families in the ambulatory setting.
• Completes pre-procedure/evaluations.
• Completes integrated assessments.
• Orders additional tests or consults as deemed appropriate.
• Performs and communicates results of diagnostic tests following established clinical guidelines.
• Collaborates with clinic and hospital staff regarding abnormal findings.
• Documents the plan of care and evaluates outcomes.
• Coordinates discharge planning and follow-up as applicable.
• Provides education to patients and staff and participates in professional development.
