Job summary

AdventHealth seeks a licensed Physical Therapist to diagnose, plan, and implement patient care in a full-time role at our Orlando facility. You will assess mobility, develop treatment plans, and supervise assistants while adhering to standards and regulations.

You will engage in community outreach, support performance improvement, and document care precisely. A Doctorate in Physical Therapy and Florida PT licensure are preferred as you serve diverse patients in a faith-based health system.

Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak conversational English.
• Doctorate in Physical Therapy or equivalent preferred.
• Active PT license or eligible in Florida is required.

Responsibilities

• Determine diagnosis and establish a plan of care with referrals when needed.
• Design and implement treatment plans using standards and guidelines.
• Assess patient mobility and evaluate musculoskeletal and nervous systems.
• Support community outreach and public education about therapy services.
• Oversee therapy assistants under regulatory and standards guidelines.
• Contribute to practice improvements and quality initiatives.
• Document and charge accurately and timely using standard terminology.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

The anticipated minimum pay rate for this position is $35/hour.

• Determines physical therapy diagnosis and establishes a plan of care, making recommendations for referral if treatment is needed outside the scope of physical therapist practice.
• Designs and implements treatment plan of care utilizing practice standards, recommended techniques, modalities, insurance guidelines, and patient needs.
• Assesses patient ability to safely and effectively perform functional mobility skills and evaluates muscle, nerve, joint, and integumentary systems.
• Supports consumer marketing and public awareness through participation in community events, educational lectures/speaking, and/or other extension of clinical expertise to the community.
• Oversees the care provided by physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides, according to established regulations and practice standards.
• Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.
• Documents and charges accurately, completely, and timely using measurable and objective terminology following standards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
• Entry level competency of physical therapy practice, theory, principles, and applications as defined in competency/department policies [Required]
• Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required]
