Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island is seeking a Part Time MRI Technologist for Outpatient Radiology in East Meadow. Under the Radiologist, you will operate MRI equipment to produce clinical diagnostic images and ensure patient safety and proper documentation, with supervision for students as needed.

The role requires ARRT certification, NY licensure, and a technical radiology diploma; preferred bachelor’s in radiology and 1–2 years MRI experience.

Qualifications

• Technical Diploma graduate of AMA approved school of Radiology.
• New York State Radiologic Technologist License or Temp Permit.
• ARRT certification.
• Strong communication, problem solving, and customer service skills.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Operates MRI equipment to take diagnostic images as ordered and produces images for radiologist interpretation.
• Uses PACS to ensure images are available to radiologists with minimal exceptions.
• Enters exam codes in Radiology Information System and ensures timely completion of exams.
• Assists in care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies; reports malfunctions to supervisor.
• Instructs and supervises radiography students during clinical practicum and collaborates on exams.
• Follows department SOPs and safety protocols to protect patients and staff.
