Job summary

Universal Health Services, Inc. seeks a Mental Health Technician for a part-time, 24-hours-per-week position at The Ridge Behavioral Health System in Lexington, KY. The role supports inpatient and outpatient psychiatric and substance use disorder services, under direct supervision, and participates in treatment team activities.

You will assist in education and activity groups, monitor patients, and respond to crises using de-escalation techniques to maintain safety and therapeutic environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Some college coursework preferred.
• Experience may be accepted in lieu of college coursework.
• Must demonstrate basic knowledge of emotional and mental health concepts including addiction.
• Clear communication and ability to facilitate psycho-education groups.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates group activities tailored to topic, age, and level of understanding as approved by the Program Coordinator.
• Ensures patients are consistently monitored in the proper location for the duration of activities.
• Provides appropriate crisis intervention using de-escalation techniques to diffuse escalating behaviors and prioritize safety.
