Qualifications

• Active AHIMA membership
• Active AAPC membership
• Associate's degree in health information technology from an accredited program
• Active credentials: RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC/CCVTC/CANPC (as applicable)

Responsibilities

• Assign APC, ICD, CPT/HCPCS and E/M codes for hospital outpatient and professional services.
• Ensure complete abstraction of medical records to maximize reimbursement.
