Job summary

Carson Tahoe Health is seeking detail-oriented Clinical Coding Specialists at multiple experience levels to join our coding team. You will assign ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT/HCPCS codes for inpatient and outpatient services and ensure data accuracy across departments.

Level I–III vary by experience: entry tests foundational coding; intermediate handles complex outpatient/professional coding; senior focuses on inpatient MS-DRG and POA indicators. AHIMA/AAPC certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Active AHIMA or AAPC certification(s) as listed above.
• One year of coding experience for Level I; two years for Level II; three years inpatient experience for Level III.

Responsibilities

• Assign compliant ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS/CPT/HCPCS codes across inpatient and outpatient services.
• Abstract medical records accurately and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with HIM, Revenue Cycle, and clinical teams to clarify documentation.
• Meet productivity and quality standards to support reimbursement and data integrity.
