Essential functions include coding, validation, and collaboration with clinical staff to ensure proper reimbursement. CCS or CPC credentials and A&P knowledge are preferred; base wage starts at $15.65 per hour with experience-based increases.

Qualifications

• CCS or CPC credentials required or working toward certification.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS coding and guidelines.
• High school diploma or equivalent; healthcare terminology familiarity.
• Ability to communicate with providers to obtain clarifications.
• Proficiency with common software used in medical records and coding.

Responsibilities

• Assign codes using ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS across settings.
• Validate coding accuracy against medical records and guidelines.
• Support billing with proper coding and documentation.
• Query providers to obtain needed clinical information for codes.
• Perform DRG and E/M coding and contribute to reimbursement processes.
• Educate staff on reimbursement methods and documentation rules.
