Job summary

Proficiency with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and APC, plus HIPAA knowledge, is required. Strong research skills and independent judgment are essential for timely, compliant coding.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or training in medical coding.
• Familiar with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Understanding of HIPAA and health insurance legislation.
• Ability to perform quick, productive research.

Responsibilities

• Accurately codes outpatient procedures according to ICD-10-CM, CPT, and APC guidelines.
• Code outpatient records from EMR, Radiology, and other sources.
• Attach HCPCS Level I and II modifiers for billing purposes.
• Meet daily productivity targets (120–150 accounts).
• Maintain 95% accuracy across charts.
• Consult Coding Manager to resolve issues and update references.
