Job summary

Bellingham Comprehensive Treatment Center (CTC) in Washington is seeking a Substance Use Counselor to support patients battling opioid use disorder. You will deliver individual and group counseling, develop recovery plans, and document progress in a timely, compliant manner.

Responsibilities include initial assessments, treatment planning, crisis intervention, and coordination with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

• HS graduate or higher; prefer degree in social/health services.
• Experience in addiction recovery or behavioral health settings.
• Familiarity with MAT (methadone, buprenorphine, naltrexone).
• Knowledge of CBT, MI, and relapse prevention techniques.
• Documentation of treatment plans and progress per regulations.
• SUDPT or SUDP license required in Washington.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality, compassionate guidance in individual and group sessions.
• Plan, oversee, facilitate and document patient recovery.
• Co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions as needed.
• Ensure all documentation regarding patient care, treatment, and incidents is timely and clear.
• Prepare individual treatment plans for each patient.
• Conduct initial and follow-up assessments.
• Evaluate patient needs and refer to other programs when needed.
• Plan for aftercare for assigned patients.
• Provide crisis intervention as needed.
• Perform case management to ensure quality patient care.
• Liaise between referral sources and patients when needed.
