Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Carmel Family Medicine clinic in Charlotte. You will prepare patients for exams, perform labs and assist physicians with procedures, under supervision.

The role includes administering medications, IV therapy within scope, and coordinating referrals. Excellent communication and organization are essential, with proficiency in EMR systems and a patient-centered approach.

Qualifications

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the practicing state
BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 45 days unless exempted
Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program
No prior experience required

Responsibilities

Prepare and room the patient for exam; document vitals and chief complaints
Perform laboratory procedures following aseptic technique and safety guidelines
Assist physician with procedures and surgeries as needed
Administer medications under orders, including IV therapy where appropriate
Educate patients on treatments and coordinate referrals and appointment scheduling
Document patient information accurately and communicate with the care team
Carry out advanced clinical tasks under supervision (e.g., sutures removal, EKG, spirometry)
