Inova Health System is seeking an Outpatient Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 for Cardiology. This full-time day position runs Monday through Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with Inova’s reputation for safety and quality in patient care.

Minimum qualifications include a Virginia LPN license, a vocational/technical nursing diploma, and at least 2 years of hospital or clinic nursing experience, plus BLS certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsabilités

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments under physician supervision.
• Communicate with the healthcare team, patients and families; support team goals and delegate tasks to care staff.
• Maintain and review patient records and orders; document care activities per standards.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) 2 Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinates referrals for patient chronic care conditions and follow up care as indicated by the initial care plan of the specialist and/or primary care physician.
• Administers prescribed oral and intramuscular medications, therapies and treatments following practical nursing standards and under the direct supervision of the physician.
• Effectively communicates with healthcare team members, patients and families; Supports healthcare team members to achieve team goals and assigns appropriate tasks to care assistants.
• Maintains and reviews patient medical records, notes and physician orders; Documents all patient care activities in accordance with documentation standards and legal requirements for medical facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Vocational / Technical Diploma in Practical Nursing
• License: Licensed Practical Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia
• Experience: 2 years of nursing practice in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association
