Job summary

InterMed in South Portland, ME is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive ambulatory care in outpatient settings, collaborating with physicians, advanced practitioners, and the care team to deliver patient-centered services.

Responsibilities include collecting vital signs, administering medications and vaccines, performing screenings, preparing specimens, managing orders in the EMR, and educating patients and families.

Qualifications

• ADN or BSN from an accredited institution is required.
• 0+ years of experience in ambulatory or clinical nursing.
• Unencumbered active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Maine.
• BLS certification required within 6 weeks of hire.
• Demonstrates professional judgement, communication, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards and healthcare regulations.
• Proficient with EMR and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and updates patient information and vital signs in the chart.
• Administers medications and/or vaccines.
• Performs diagnostic screenings and collects specimens for testing.
• Conducts in-office clinical procedures and places/reviews orders in EMR.
• Relays lab results or recommendations to patients via phone, portal, or in-person.
• Provides patient and/or family education and counseling.
• Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA and InterMed policies.
• Responds to urgent or acute patient needs with prioritization.
• Coordinates care with in-house specialties, home health, and hospital services.
