Qualifications

• Experience in medical coding and familiarity with ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT and HCPCS guidelines.
• Ability to work with coding software and stay updated with coding references.
• Knowledge of AHIMA standards and HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Code outpatient procedures accurately using ICD-10-CM, CPT and APC guidelines.
• Review provider documentation to determine principal diagnosis and comorbidities.
• Attach HCPCS Level I and II modifiers for billing purposes.
• Meet daily coding productivity targets and quality standards (e.g., 95% accuracy).
• Research coding questions using 3M references and coding manuals.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Health Information Management policies.
