Qualifications

• Two years of coding experience in an acute care hospital.
• Completion of college level coursework in Medical Terminology and Anatomy & Physiology.
• CCA or CPC credentials required.
• Proficiency in ICD-10-CM and CPT coding.

Responsibilities

• Code outpatient accounts (Observation, Same Day Surgery, ER) with a 3-day turnaround.
• Assign ICD-10-CM and CPT codes based on patient records.
• Respond to auditable accounts within three business days.
• Collaborate with CDI to obtain additional documentation.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and participate in required training.
• Complete continuing education units (min 10 per year).
