Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience and/or training in medical coding, medical terminology and anatomy and physiology required.
• Requires reasoning ability and good independent judgment.
• Ability to perform productive research quickly.
• Requires working with minimal interruptions.
• Must understand HIPAA and health insurance regulations and ethics.

Responsibilities

• Code outpatient procedures according to ICD-10-CM, CPT and APC guidelines.
• Attach HCPCS Level I and II modifiers for billing.
• Meet daily coding volume of 120–150 accounts.
• Aim for 95% chart accuracy in coding.
• Research 3M coding references for final coding accuracy.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to AHIMA standards.
