Job summary

The Lowell General Hospital, part of Tufts Medicine, seeks an experienced Outpatient Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner to join the Cancer Center team on its Main Campus in Lowell, MA. You will evaluate and manage patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

Four 10-hour shifts per week, outpatient ambulatory care, with no weekends or night call, and no observed holiday responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current Massachusetts Nurse Practitioner licensure.
• Hematology/Oncology experience through prior advanced practice experience or relevant clinical rotations.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
• A team player who champions patient satisfaction and compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive outpatient assessment, evaluation, and management of patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
• Collaborate with Medical Oncologists and the multidisciplinary care team to develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.
• Monitor patient progress, assess treatment response, and identify and manage treatment-related symptoms and complications within the scope of practice.
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, symptom management, and supportive care.
• Coordinate care across specialties and services to promote continuity, timely access, and optimal clinical outcomes.
• Support patients throughout their treatment journey, with an emphasis on symptom management, quality of life, and compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Participate in team-based initiatives that promote clinical excellence, patient safety, and exceptional patient experience.
