Job summary

Tufts Medicine Lowell General Hospital invites applications for an Inpatient Hematology/Oncology Nurse Practitioner in a hospital-based, full-time role in Lowell, MA. You will collaborate with Hematology/Oncology physicians, hospitalists, nurses and the care team to evaluate and manage hospitalized patients and coordinate treatment plans.

The position offers a predictable Monday–Friday schedule (8a–5p) with no weekend or weeknight call, supporting work-life balance.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
Current Massachusetts NP licensure.
Hematology/Oncology experience.
Current CPR certification.
Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration across disciplines.
Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

Perform comprehensive assessments and evaluations of hospitalized patients with hematologic and oncologic conditions.
Conduct inpatient rounds and develop individualized treatment plans with the care team.
Manage acute clinical concerns and treatment-related complications.
Monitor patient progress and changes in clinical status requiring intervention.
Coordinate diagnostics, consultations, and treatment plans with hospital-based specialists.
Collaborate with nursing, pharmacy, case management and others to support care.
Provide education and support to patients and families regarding diagnoses and treatment.
Facilitate discharge planning and transitions of care in collaboration with the team.
