Job summary

Cedar Ridge Behavioral Hospital seeks an Outpatient Group Therapist to provide counseling in outpatient programs under the Clinical Services Director. You will lead group sessions using CBT and solution-focused therapy, perform intake assessments, build therapeutic relationships, and respond to crises as needed to stabilize patients.

You will coordinate discharge planning for outpatient care and contribute to inpatient education sessions about post-discharge services, while ensuring CMS/JCAHO

Qualifications

• Licensed Masters Level Therapist or Social Worker, or under supervision for license.
• LCSW preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Successfully complete a drug test.
• Successfully pass a national background check.
• Physical agility to manage patients.
• Ability to push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds.
• Strong computer skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Exposure to psychiatric patients who may exhibit violent behavior.
• Exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous materials.
• Dependable, empathetic and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient group counseling using CBT and solution-focused therapy.
• Complete intake assessments and develop therapeutic relationships.
• Provide crisis intervention as necessary by responding quickly.
• Coordinate discharge planning for outpatient programming.
• Deliver continuum of care groups on Inpatient Acute units for post-discharge education.
• Assist with inpatient acute services when needed with the clinical team.
• Maintain CMS and JCAHO compliant clinical documentation.
