Job summary

Ensource is hiring a remote Medical Coder to review hospital records, assign ICD-10-CM diagnoses and CPT codes, and support orthopedic and other surgical specialties. The role requires 3+ years of facility coding experience and current credentials (CCS/RHIA/RHIT or CPC) within the United States.

What you’ll do:

• Review hospital medical records for both medical and surgical Observation patients and properly assign relevant ICD-10-CM diagnoses according to Official Coding Guidelines in addition to CPT surgical codes as appropriate. Surgical specialties include but are not limited to:Orthopedic, Spinal, General Surgery, Urology, Plastics, GYN. Extensive knowledge of disease pathology is required for this position.
• Meet or exceed high quality and productivity standards, to provide exceptional coding services to our clients
• Communicate and collaborate with outpatient coders and managers to address the dynamic needs of our clients
• Keep active coding certifications and complete continuing education to maintain expertise

What you’ll need:

• Current CCS, RHIA, RHIT through AHIMA or CPC through AAPC coding credentials are required
• 3 or more years of relevant facility coding experience
• Access to reliable high-speed internet and workstation.
• Epic experience is a plus
• Candidates must reside within the United States
