Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse to join the Outpatient CAP 1 program. The RN will coordinate and provide clinically competent care for an assigned patient group undergoing hemodialysis, with duties including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

The role supports education of patients and families, collaborates with the care team, and participates in quality improvement activities within a healthcare facility.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Performs ongoing data collection and analysis of patient data pre – during – post hemodialysis treatment and documents in the patient medical record.
• Educates patients and family on learning needs.
• Directs and provides safe and effective delivery of hemodialysis therapy to assigned patients.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Ensures correct laboratory procedures and reschedules missed collections.
• Identifies expected outcomes and updates nursing assessment and plan of care with Interdisciplinary Team.
