Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks an entry-level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 1 position within the Clinical Advancement Program (CAP). This role provides and coordinates clinically competent care, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation for an assigned patient group in a dialysis setting.

Qualifications

• Entry level RN with less than 2 years nephrology nursing experience.
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Supervisor and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or in collaboration with other Registered Nurses.
• Performs ongoing, systematic collection and analysis of patient data during hemodialysis and updates the plan of care.
• Assesses and documents patient/family learning needs for education.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with care staff.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms and documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource for health care team and participates in staff training.
• Ensures correct laboratory collection, processing and shipping; reschedules missed collections.
• Updates nursing assessment and plan of care in collaboration with Interdisciplinary Team.
• Educates patients on transplant and modality options.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Graduate of accredited School of Nursing
