Job summary

Cumberland Heights seeks an Outpatient Counselor to provide services across the Eight Domains of Addiction Counseling, crafting individualized plans and coordinating care with the clinical team. The counselor will work within the Cumberland Heights Model of Care to support long-term recovery for patients and their families.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in related field (e.g., counseling) or LADAC I required; LADAC II preferred.
• One year addiction treatment experience preferred; internships and coursework are a plus.
• Ability to teach evidence-based counseling practices for substance use and co-occurring disorders.
• Fluent English; second language a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage groups of patients and coordinate their treatment across the continuum of care.
• Provide individual counseling for substance use and co-occurring disorders.
• Develop patient-centered plans of care and continuing care plans.
• Facilitate psycho-educational groups on substance use disorders and mental health issues.
• Document clinical activities in patient records and ensure compliance with policies.
• Participate in team meetings and supervision.
