Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an Outpatient Coder to review records and assign ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPCS, and modifiers for accurate APCs under the supervision of the OP Coding Manager.

Must have CPC or CCS-P certification and at least 2 years of outpatient coding experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EMR systems is required. Epic experience and 3M-360 CAC are a plus for this role.

Qualifications

• Professional coding certification required (CPC or CCS-P).
• Minimum 2 years of ICD-10-CM, CPT/HCPC outpatient coding experience.
• Experience with Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath, Injection/Infusion, Observation, and Ambulatory Surgery coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and code professional services for CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS and modifiers.
• Ensure productivity and accuracy per manager guidelines.
• Conduct periodic reviews and provide feedback to providers.
• Educate physicians and staff on coding updates and requirements.
• Respond to questions from providers and other departments.
• Audit charges and address rejected claims and inquiries.
