Responsibilities

• Reviews patient records and assigns ICD-10-CM or CPT-4 codes per guidelines.
• Applies sequencing rules to coded data per official coding rules.
• Reviews records to ensure documentation supports codes/ER charges.
• Keeps current on coding procedures and federal rule changes.
• Communicates questions to Coding Manager or Revenue Integrity for resolution.
• Collaborates with medical staff to resolve coding issues.
• Maintains knowledge and pursues professional growth.
