Responsibilities

• Perform coding for outpatient procedures including surgeries and evaluations.
• Work within 30 minutes of trainer during onboarding.
• Maintain productivity standards of 5 observations per hour.

Pediatrics Outpatient Observation and Ambulatory Surgery accounts Seasoned Outpatient Pediatric Coder

· Possess extensive knowledge of coding principles

· Possess knowledge and understanding of anatomy & physiology, disease process

· Diagnoses – Congenital Anomalies (various of body systems), Neurology, Cardiovascular Orthopedic, ENT, G.I., Oncology, Respiratory

· Procedures include

o General Surgery – appendectomy, ovarian cystectomy

o Orthopedic – meniscal tears, knew procedures/ACL reconstruction, tendon repairs/lengthening, chondroplasty, fracture repairs

o Urology – hypospadias repairs, chordee

o Ophthalmology – strabismus repair, cataract extractions

o Respiratory – bronchoscopies,

Ø Soft Skills—What will make a good team fit:

· Hours: Monday – Friday 40 hours pr/wk Hours – Central Time Zone; During onboarding work within 30 minutes of trainer 7:30 am; after release may start as early as 6:00 am and no later than 11:30 pm.

· Prefer consistent/static schedule due to workflow assignments

· System/s: Most updated Version of EPIC

· Metric standards—

o Productivity: Observation – 5 avg pr/hr Ambulatory Surgery – 4 avg pr/hr

o Accuracy: 95%

· Training expectations—

· Copies of facility coding guidelines to review

· One hundred percent chart review in 25 chart increments

· Goal – Threshold 95%; attain 93-95% coding accuracy rate before or by 100th chart

· If goal not met may consider continuation of training or review with company per Statement of Work

· IT Information—Personal Equipment only!

o For c2h must live in Texas

o For Contract only can live anywhere
