Job summary

Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System seeks an Outpatient Clinical Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to deliver high-quality patient care under licensed practitioners. The role supports physicians, prepares exam rooms, and maintains supplies while ensuring safety and compliance.

The CMA will administer immunizations, document in patient records, educate families, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote efficient clinic operations and exceptional service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant Program required.
• Active Medical Assistant certification required.
• Current Medication Aid Registry listing.
• Current Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize tasks.
• Communicate effectively with patients and health care team members.
• Protect confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the WCHS core mission, vision and values; respectful of tribal beliefs, culture and traditions.
• Functions as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide direct patient care.
• Demonstrates knowledge and performs clinical tasks under the direction of a licensed practitioner.
• Prepare exam rooms and equipment to facilitate treatment and examination of patients by setting up instruments, equipment and stocking supplies.
• Demonstrates proficiency in administration of immunization and other medications under the direction of a licensed practitioner.
• Promptly notify Provider of patient condition when necessary.
• Provide patient and family education to ensure adequate knowledge and resources as needed.
• Comply with all departmental and organizational policies and procedures in addition to regulatory requirements and participate in safety and quality activities.
• Documents accurately and completely in the patient record.
• Respect patients’ rights and privacy and act as a patient advocate.
• Other duties as assigned.
