Job summary

Geisinger Healthplex Woodbine is seeking an outpatient Medical Assistant to join a busy clinic team. The role provides direct patient care, supports physicians, prepares patients, and documents in the electronic medical record.

Eligible candidates may receive a $3,000 sign-on bonus; full-time, 40 hours weekly; CMA or RMA certification required or CMA preferred; high school diploma required; excellent benefits included.

Qualifications

• Experience in outpatient clinical settings is preferred.
• CMA or RMA certification is required.
• Certification by NHA, AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT, AAH, or AMCA is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and clinical support for physicians and other providers in the outpatient setting.
• Functions as an integral member of the health care team under the direction of the provider.
• Performs clinical duties such as preparing patients, collecting and reviewing pertinent information, performing technical duties, and documenting in the EMR.
• Assists with patient scheduling, filing reports, and billing inquiries.
• Completes patient tests and treatments per provider’s order per policy and procedure.
• Maintains patient safety and privacy, and supports infection prevention procedures.
