Job summary

The ideal candidate is a registered nurse with 5+ years of nursing experience, strong clinical skills, and knowledge of ICD-10-CM coding guidelines. Collaboration with providers and HIM is essential.

Qualifications

• RN with at least five years of clinical nursing experience and SC RN license.
• Strong clinical knowledge and ability to think critically.
• Experience with outpatient documentation and coding workflows is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct concurrent and retrospective reviews to ensure documentation supports severity and medical necessity.
• Collaborate with physicians and coders to improve documentation and coding for outpatient services.
• Query providers to address documentation gaps and ensure accurate coding and billing.
• Educate staff on documentation best practices and ensure ongoing CDI excellence.
