Job summary

Belmont Behavioral Health System in Philadelphia, PA is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Outpatient Behavioral Health Program on a part-time schedule (Monday–Wednesday), day shift, 8:00am–4:30pm.

The RN will assess physical and behavioral health needs, develop care plans, educate patients and families, document care, and coordinate with physicians while adhering to state nursing practice acts and facility policies.

Qualifications

• Must have graduated from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license as required by state of employment (or eligible to practice).
• One year of nursing experience; psychiatric/behavioral or substance use experience a plus.
• CPR and de-escalation/ restraint certification required (training available on hire).
• First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical and behavioral health needs and coordinate care.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about conditions.
• Adhere to Nursing Practice Act regulations, policies and protocol.
• Ensure orders are legible and properly transcribed.
• Assess patient status regularly and document findings.
• Notify physicians of significant changes in status.
• Complete admission and discharge processing with accuracy.
• Provide therapeutic rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Coordinate activities of the unit as directed.
• Communicate professionally with patients, visitors, and staff.
