Job summary

Butte County Department of Behavioral Health seeks a Certified Nurse Practitioner to provide essential medical care and counseling in an adult outpatient mental health setting. You will independently perform assessments, diagnose, develop treatment plans, and counsel patients with complex co-occurring conditions.

You will operate within a non-exempt, county-funded program, collaborating with physicians and care teams to support patient stability and recovery in a community health setting.

Qualifications

• Independently perform assessments, determine diagnoses, and develop treatment plans.
• Counsel patients on physical or mental health matters.
• Work in an outpatient adult mental health setting with co-occurring conditions.

Responsibilities

• Administers general nursing care and conducts health assessments.
• Interviews patients, obtains histories, and performs physical/mental status exams.
• Prescribes and adjusts medications under established protocols.
• Provides patient and family counseling and education on care plans.
• Maintains and updates patient records and reports.
