Pathway To Care And Recovery in Pittsburgh, PA seeks an Assessment Specialist-Outpatient AOD to schedule and complete diagnostic assessments for clients in the Renewal outpatient program. You will determine the appropriate level of care and coordinate referrals to ensure documentation and authorization are in place.

The role requires knowledge of DSM criteria, ICD-10/DSM-V, and co-occurring disorders, with strong communication and multi-tasking abilities, maintaining confidentiality and ethics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or related field with minimum two (2) years' experience required.
  • Certification preferred. Act 33/34 required.
  • Knowledge of DSM Diagnostic Criteria and required assessment tools; ICD 10 Codes and DSM-V.
  • Experience with co-occurring disorders; writing and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules and completes AOD diagnostic assessments for clients referred to Renewal outpatient program.
  • Make appropriate recommendations for needed level of care and coordinate referrals for proper documentation and authorization.
  • Communicate information between client, referral sources, finance office, counselors and Case Managers to meet the plan of care.
  • Schedule initial appointment with assigned AOD Counselor and follow up on all referrals.
  • Ensure clients are adequately funded through authorizing services for payment in a timely manner.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and a high degree of ethics.

Education
